THE LUXURY TRAVEL BOOK: UX AUDIT

The brief

Partnering with Noble Studios, Lucy led a comprehensive UX insight and experience audit for The Luxury Travel Book. The goal was to elevate the premium villa rental platform, aligning its digital experience with its high-end positioning to better serve high-intent, luxury travelers.

Key challenges

While the brand offered exceptional, curated properties, the website felt functional rather than inspiring. Key friction points included:

LACK OF GUIDED INSPIRATION: A homepage and discovery experience that underutilized editorial content and emotional storytelling.

MISALIGNED SEARCH: A rigid filtering system that didn't match how luxury travelers actually browse.

MOBILE FRICTION: A mobile experience that lacked fluidity for browsing, comparing, and saving.

The solution & evolution

User research revealed that affluent travellers search based on lifestyle intent and emotional needs rather than traditional filters.

INTENT LED UX: Proposed a curated, seamless filtering system and improved content hierarchy to accelerate decision-making.

RICH STORYTELLING: Enhanced property pages with visual icon systems for quick-scan usability and deeper emotional engagement.

This project successfully transformed a purely functional booking site into a premium, editorial digital experience. By balancing high-end inspiration with effortless usability, the new user-centered platform directly supports how modern travelers discover and book luxury stays – turning friction into a seamless, branded journey that secured immediate client adoption.

This project also lead to a second phase where Lucy led the hands-on UI redesign of the filtering experience and created custom iconography, while Noble Studios spearheaded development.
